Walking the Dog

Inspired by an evening walk, Walking the Dog captures one of those sunsets that has a way of stopping you in your tracks.

Brilliant fiery oranges glow beneath a sky of soft, billowing grey clouds, their edges catching the last light of the day. The familiar silhouette of treetops and palms rises above the rooftops, creating a scene that feels distinctly Australian—where suburbia and nature exist side by side beneath an ever-changing sky.

Part of my Sunset Series, this painting is a celebration of those simple moments spent outdoors, when the day's distractions fall away and you're reminded to look up. It's often during these quiet walks that the sky puts on its most spectacular display, turning an everyday outing into something worth remembering.

My hope is that this painting captures not only the warmth and brilliance of an Australian sunset, but also the sense of calm, gratitude and connection that comes from slowing down long enough to notice it.
