This painting was inspired by the view from my laundry window.

Looking out towards the beauty of Mount Coolum, framed by eucalyptus and palm trees, I'm reminded how fortunate I am to live amongst such beautiful Australian landscapes. On this particular evening, the setting sun transformed the scene, with brilliant oranges and glowing yellows filling the sky and casting the landscape into striking silhouette.

Part of my Sunset Series, this painting celebrates those moments when light completely changes the way we experience a familiar place. The landscape itself is timeless, but every sunset tells a different story, painting the sky with colours that exist for only a few fleeting moments before fading into dusk.

It is a love letter to the place I call home, and a reminder that some of the most spectacular views are the ones we are lucky enough to live with every day.
