This painting was inspired by a photograph I took while we were camping on the side of the road during our journey across the top of Australia. As the day drew to a close, soft pastel pinks and gentle purples drifted across the sky, while the silhouette of native gum trees stretched across the horizon. It was one of those quiet moments that asked nothing of us except to pause and take it all in.

Part of my Sunset Series, Roadside Camping is inspired by Australia's breathtaking evening skies and the quiet moments spent immersed in the landscape. Some of the most unforgettable memories aren't made at the destination, but in the unexpected places along the way. Every sunset is fleeting, yet each one leaves behind its own feeling and its own story.
